The Henry County Jail is a 130-bed facility located in New Castle, IN.
This facility offers several different programs for the inmates to prepare them to be better able to live outside of the Jail environment. The programs include but are not limited to the following:
- G.E.D Program
- Educational Programs
- Substance Abuse Programs
- Religious Services
There is a Work Release Program at this facility as well. Work Release inmates are given the opportunity to support their family’s and pay their restitution while they are in jail by going to work. Inmates are released to go to work and are required to return to the jail after work.
Henry County Jail is a medium security facility that is managed by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office. This facility serves Henry County and the nearby towns. Inmates from municipalities, the US Marshal’s Service and the Covington Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up are taken to the Henry County Jail as well.
When inmates first arrive at the Henry County Jail, they are taken to the intake where they are held in a large holding cell with other inmates. This is where the violent and out of control inmates are segregated after being observed.
