The White County Jail is located in Monticello, Indiana. The White County Jail is under the management of the White County Sheriff’s Office. The White County Sheriff’s Office is the agency in charge of ensuring the White County Jail is operating at an effective level that surpasses both state and national standards. The White County Jail is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The White County Jail was once a jail that was home to state prisoners. Ever since the beginning the White County Jail always was home to adult female and adult male inmates.
Many of these inmates that were housed in the White County Jail are typically classified and called pre-trial detainees. These pre-trial detainees keep many of the individual rights that they receive from the United States Constitution. Any sort of punishment of these pre-trial detainees is out of line when it comes to the 14th amendment of the United States Constitution. The constitution does not allow any of the deprivation of liberty without going through the due process of law. Essentially the White County Jail is very limited to the rights of their inmates. However, the fullest rights will always be given to each and every inmate.
Inmates in the White County Jail can receive written letters from their loved ones on the outside of the facility. However, before you send any mail to the White County Jail, you will want to contact the facility first. You will need to ask them for the mail guidelines that they have in place to ensure your mail gets to the inmate successfully without any problems.
Inmates in the White County Jail will not be permitted to having any contact visitation. Children can visit inmates only on the first and third weekend of every month.
Inmates are only granted to have one 20-minute visit that can consist of up to 3 people over the age of 18. When it’s the children weekend to visit, these visits can consist of 3 adults with 2 adults.
Inmates will have an approved visitor list. Only 6 people over the age of 18 will be permitted to be on the list. You will need to be on the list if you wish to visit the inmate while they are in the White County Jail. Inmates can change this list, but their changes will become official on the first of the month only, so if it is the middle of the month you’ll have to wait for the start of the new month.
