About the Facility

This facility originally opened as a youth center in 1969, but was changed into a prison later on. Today, it houses about 1,659 male inmates.
How to Send Mail
Throughout the state of Indiana, prisons are no longer accepting letters on anything except plain white or lined paper. It must also only be written in blue or black ink. If you do not follow this criteria, the letter will simply be thrown away. How to Send Money
You can send money in several different ways by using an online program called JPay. Upon signing up for an account, you can send money to an inmate’s commissary account or sign up for a phone account for the inmate.
How to Visit an Inmate
In order to visit an inmate at this facility, you will have to be on the approved visitor list. This means you will be contacted by the offender with an application to fill out. The visiting schedule is as follows:
- Visits are one (1) hours in duration on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for General Population offenders.
- One (1) hour on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
- Visits are one hour (1) in duration on Wednesdays are rotated every other week for offenders in Administrative Restrictive Housing and K-1, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM.
- No visits on Tuesdays.
