Indianapolis Men's Community Re-Entry Work Release Inmate Search and Prison Information
The Indianapolis Men’s Community Re-Entry Work Release is a program in which inmates are released to do work outside of the prison. These facilities actually are able to house the offenders and then the offenders leave on work release. When they’re done working, they come back to the facility. The program is in a contract with the Indiana Department of Correction.
Work Release Centers in Indiana
The Indianapolis Men’s Community Re-Entry Work Release isn’t the only work release center in Indiana. There are over a dozen work release centers in the state. Work release centers offer a different perspective and a different way inmates can spend their time in jail.
Locating an Inmate
If you’re wanting to locate an inmate in Indiana then you will need to look up the inmate through the database. The database requires that you have the inmate’s first name and last name. Once you know that information, you can do the search. The search also can be done using the inmate’s offender number. The offender number is what you need to send emails back and forth to an inmate, send money, and much more.
Talking to an Inmate
Are you wondering how you can talk to an inmate, once they’re in prison? After an inmate has been booked in the jail, you can start communicating with an inmate. Work release inmates have limited time as to when they can communicate, since they are in jail all day.
You can talk to an inmate through several ways…
- Send a letter – one of the most common ways to communicate with someone in the work release program is by sending a letter. Mail is restricted, so make sure you find out what you’re able to send to the jail and what you’re not able to send.
- Wait for the inmate to call you – since you can’t actually call an inmate, you have to wait for the inmate to call you. This can be tough, but it will be well worth the wait.
- Send an email – once the inmate has money in their trust accounts, they can use it to send emails. Emails are inexpensive and a quick way to communicate with an inmate. Keep in mind that some messages are delayed as everything is checked before reaching the inmate.
Inmates can also use the money they have in their accounts and buy items from the commissary. Keep in mind that inmates are limited on what they can buy.
