Sending a Mail/Care Package

The Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center inmates are allowed to get written letters from their family and friends in the mail. For safety reasons, all letters will be examined by the jail employees when the letters arrive. The letters will be passed out to the inmates after they are checked by the jail employees.

There are a number of items you are not allowed to send when you are sending things to the prison along with your letters. Here is a list of items you are not allowed to send:

The Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center inmates are allowed to get books, newspapers and magazines sent to them. The books, newspapers and magazines, will need to be delivered straight from the bookstore or publisher to the jail. All books that are sent to the jail will need to be new and paperback. All used and hardcover books are forbidden. All hardcover and used books will be sent back to see if they are sent to the jail.

Sending Money

The Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center inmates will need funds in their account to make purchases at the commissary.

You will need the inmate's name and their booking number in order to transfer funds into an inmate's account. By using the kiosk in the jail lobby during regular business hours you will be able to deposit funds into an inmate's account.

You can also make deposits at inmatedeposits.com. However, there is a service fee of $2.95. Deposits can be made by calling 541-774-4800. There is a $3.95 fee to use this service.

Phone calls

The Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center inmates are not allowed to get phone calls from their family or friends. During phone time inmates are allowed to make phone calls to their family and friends. The inmates are limited to 15-minute phone calls. The call will be terminated when the 15-minutes is over. 

Calling features such as three-way calling and call forwarding are prohibited for the inmates to use. The call will be disconnected if an inmate is caught using any of these features. Disciplinary action will be taken up against the inmate as well. 

The Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center inmates are only allowed to make collect calls. Only the individuals that have a landline will be able to get any of these collect calls. You will not be able to receive collect calls on your cell phone.  The individual receiving the collect calls is the one responsible for any and all charges that are associated with the collect calls. The Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center is not accountable for any and all charges associated with the collect calls.

The Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center inmates do not have a way to get onto the internet. The inmates are not able to keep in touch with their friends and family using any electronic messaging systems. If you would like to stay in touch with inmates in the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center, you will need to send them a written letter to the address above if you would like to keep in touch with an inmate.

Visiting Rules

The Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center inmates are allowed to have visitors. All visitors under the age of 18 are allowed to visit, however, they will need to be with their legal guardian. Before you are allowed to visit you will need to show either your driver’s license, state identification card, or your United States Passport.

Remember, all your personal belongings will be required to stay in your car. No personal belongings will be permitted to be in the visitation area. 

There are only no-contact visits in the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center. You and the inmate will only be able to see each other on a computer screen. You will not be able to see each other in person. 

You can either visit an inmate by video at the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center or by remote, at your home. You will need to have the proper tools, including a computer, webcam, and high-speed internet if you would like to remotely visit an inmate from your home.

How Often Can I Visit?

Inmates can be visited on their designated day above. Their visitation schedule days are based on the inmates last name. 30 minutes visitations are allowed during the weekday and 15-minute visitations are allowed on  Saturdays.
