Sending a Mail/Care Package
The Santa Fe County Detention Center Inmates can receive written letters from their friends and family. For safety reasons, all letters are checked by jail staff upon arrival. The jail staff will pass the mail out to the correct inmates after the staff checks the mail.

Sending Money
In order to make purchases from the commissary, the inmates at the Santa Fe County Detention Center will need money. You are allowed to send a cashier’s check or a money order straight to the Santa Fe County Detention Center, if you would like to fund an inmate's account. You will have to make the money payable to the inmate's name.

You will need to make sure you have a return address on the envelope if you decide to send checks or money orders by mail. Money orders will take a few days to be deposited into the inmate’s bank account.
Phone calls
The Santa Fe County Detention Center inmates are not allowed to receive phone calls from their family or friends. Although, during their phone time, inmates are allowed to make phone calls to their friends and family. The inmates are limited to 15-minute calls. The call will be disconnected when the 15 minutes is up.
Calling features such as three-way calling and call forwarding are not allowed for the inmates to use. Immediately, the call will be terminated if an inmate is caught using these features. and disciplinary action will be taken up against the inmate.
The Santa Fe County Detention Center inmate are allowed to make only collect calls. Inmates are only permitted to call those who have a landline. Those who only have cell phones won't t be able to take these collect calls. The individual that is receiving the collect call is the one responsible for any and all charges from this call. The Santa Fe County Detention Center isn't responsible for any charges from any collect calls.
The Santa Fe County Detention Center inmates do not have access to the internet. To communicate with friends and family, the inmates at the Santa Fe County Detention Center do not have access to any electronic messaging systems that they can use. Visiting Rules
The Santa Fe County Detention Center inmates can receive visitors. All visitors under the age of 18 are allowed to visit, however, they will need to be with their legal guardian. Before you are allowed to visit, you will have to have either your driver’s license, state identification card or your United States Passport.
