With executive, administrative, and law enforcement offices this facility was designed to only hold up to 150 inmates.  

Over the years, the Valley County Jail started going over capacity and the county kept expanding the jail so they could hold everything they needed to. 

How to Find Someone in Valley County Jail

You can do an inmate search at the Valley County Jail in their online roster inmate list. Their database is available to the public by the Valley County Sheriff's Department. You can search their roster by the inmate's first name, last name, their date of birth, booking number, permanent number, state ID, county ID, FBI number, or their ICE number. 

You will see the following personal information; their full name, height, aliases, date of birth, as well as what their charges are when doing a successful inmate search.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

The Valley County Jail inmates are allowed to get written letters in the mail. The mail gets delivered to the inmates Monday through Friday, however, there isn't mail delivery on the weekends. Mail is only delivered to the inmates who can present their jail identification armband. 

All mail that is sent to the jail is examined by the jail employees. All prohibited items will be removed from the letters. All legal mail sent from legal counsel will be opened in front of the inmate.

Sending Money

Inmates at the Valley County Jail will need funds to purchase items at the commissary. You will need to use the United states Postal Service when you send money to the Valley County Jail.  Make sure to use Postal Prepaid Money Orders, regular money orders, or government checks. Cash, payroll checks, credit card numbers, and personal checks are not allowed. 

Funds being transfered need to be made payable to the Valley County Jail Commissary. Make sure the inmates full name, their cell unit, date of birth, along with their gallery number are included on the check and/or money order. Items will get sent back to sender without the correct information.

There is a kiosk in the jail lobby that you can use to transfer funds into an inmate's commissary account as well. The kiosk is availible 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Phone calls

Valley County Jail contracts with Global Tel Link as their phone service. You can fund their telephone account by going to their official website you are able to fund their phone account. You can give them a call at 308-728-3906 as well. 

All calls are monitored. Inmates are limited to 15 minutes. Calling features such as three-way calling is prohibited for the inmates to use. If an inmate is caught using any calling features the call will be terminated. 

Email

The Valley County Jail inmates do not have a way to get onto the internet. However, they have access to their Global Tel Link account.

Inmates are able to send electronic messages similar to email to their friends and family with this service. A majority of the inmates choose this service because it is more convenient and much faster than traditional mail. However, there is a fee to use this service.

 

Visiting Rules

Inmates in the Valley County Jail are allowed to have visitations. The Valley County Jail views visitations as a privilege, not a right. This privilege can be withheld without notice.   

Before you are allowed to visit you will need to make an appointment. By calling 308-728-3906 a visitation can be scheduled. Appointments can be made Monday through Friday from 11:30 am until  2:30 pm or until appointments are filled.

How Often Can I Visit?

Inmates are allowed 2 visitations each week. It still counts as a visitation if you leave before or during your visit.
