Sending a Mail/Care Package

The Bristol County - Ash Street Jail & Regional Lock-Up are allowed to get written letters from their family and friends. For safety reasons all letters get inspected by jail employees when they arrive.  The jail staff pass out the letters to the correct inmates after the mail gets inspected. 

When you send items to the jail along with your letters, there are you are not allowed to send. Here is a list of items that are not allowed:

The Bristol County - Ash Street Jail & Regional Lock-Up inmates are allowed to receive books and newspapers magazines. The books, magazines, and newspapers will need to be sent directly from the bookstore or publisher to the jail. All books being sent to the jail will have to be new and paperback. All used and hardcover books are not allowed. Books will be sent back to sender if they are used or hardcover. 

Sending Money

Phone calls

The Bristol County - Ash Street Jail & Regional Lock-Up inmates are not allowed to get phone calls from their family or friends. During phone time, inmates are permitted to call their family and friends.  The inmates are only allowed to have 15-minute phone calls. The call will be disconnected when the 15-minutes is up.     

Calling features such as three-way calling and call forwarding are prohibited for the inmates to use. The call will be disconnected if an inmate is caught using any of these features. Disciplinary action will be taken up against the inmate.

Those who only have a cell phone will not be able to get any collect calls. The individual receiving the collect call is the one responsible for any and all charges that are associated with the collect call. Visiting Rules

The Bristol County - Ash Street Jail & Regional Lock-Up inmates can have visitors. All visitors under the age of 18 will are allowed to visit, however, they will need to stay by their legal guardian. Before you are allowed to visit you will need to show either your driver’s license, state identification card, or your United States Passport.

Make sure you put all your personal belongings in your car. You are not allowed to bring any of your personal belongings to the visitation area.
