Money orders are the only thing that can be sent in the mail to fund an inmate's account.
At Wayne County Jail lobby there is a kiosk that you can use to deposit funds into an inmate's account. The kiosk accepts cash, credit and debit cards. 1$ bill are not accepted at the kiosk and the kiosk does not make change either.

There are a minimum of $5 and a maximum of $200 per transaction per week with all the services listed above.
Phone calls
The Wayne County Detention Center inmates are not allowed to get phone calls from their family or friends. During phone time inmates are allowed to make phone calls to their family and friends. The inmates are limited to 15-minute phone calls. The call will get terminated as soon as the 15-minutes is over.
Calling features such as three-way calling and call forwarding are forbidden for the inmates to use. If an inmate is caught using any of these features the call will get disconnected and disciplinary action will be taken up against the inmate.
The Wayne County Detention Center inmates are allowed to only make collect phone calls. You will only be able to receive a collect call from an inmate from a landline phone. Visiting Rules
The Wayne County Detention Center inmates are allowed to have visitations. All visitations are video visitations. You will only be able to see the inmate on a screen.
