Sending a Mail/Care Package

The Neosho County Jail inmates are allowed to get written letters in the mail from their family and friends. For safety reasons all letters sent to the jail are examined be the jail employees. The letters will get passed out to the inmates after the jail employees check them.

There are a number of items you are not allowed to sent when sending things to the prison along with your letters. You are not allowed to send the items listed below:

•    Perfume
•    Envelopes
•    Pencils
•    Pens
•    Writing Paper
•    Stamps
•    Music Cards
•    Lipstick/Lipgloss/Chapstick
•    No photographs larger than 5x7”

Inmates in the Neosho County Jail are allowed to get books, newspaper and magazines sent to them. All books, newspaper and magazines will need to be sent straight from the publisher or the bookstore to the jail. All books that are sent to the jail will need to be new and paperback. All used and hardcover books are not allowed. All used and hardcover books that are sent will get sent back to the sender.

Sending Money

The Neosho County Jail inmates will need money to make purchases from the commissary. You are allowed to send a cashier’s check or a money order to the Neosho County Jail if you would like to fund an inmate's account. Be sure to make these items payable to the inmate that you are funding their account.

Make sure to include a return address on the envelope when sending money orders or checks by mail. Be sure to allow several days for the funds to be available in the inmate's account. 

Money can also be deposited by logging on to www.jpay.com.  Using your debit or credit card, JPay site allows the inmate's friends and family members to deposit funds online. Instead of sending a money order or a cashier’s check which takes much longer, funding an inmate's account is much quicker.

Phone calls

The Neosho County Jail inmates are not allowed to get phone calls from their family or friends. During phone time inmates are allowed to make phone calls to their family and friends. The inmates are limited to 15-minute phone calls. The call will get terminated as soon as the 15-minutes is over.  

Calling features such as three-way calling and call forwarding are forbidden for the inmates to use. If an inmate is caught using any of these features the call will get disconnected and disciplinary action will be taken up against the inmate. 

The Neosho County Jail inmates are allowed to only make collect phone calls. You will only be able to receive a collect call from an inmate from a landline phone. However, you will not be able to receive any collect calls from a mobile phone. The individual receiving the collect call is the one responsible for and all fees associated with the collect calls. The Neosho County Jail is not accountable for any and all charges associated with the collect calls.

The Neosho County Jail inmates do not have a way to get onto the internet. The inmates do not have a way to keep in touch with friends and family using any electronic messaging systems.  You will need to send them a written letter to the address listed above if you would like to keep in touch with an inmate in the Neosho County Jail

Visiting Rules

The Neosho County Jail inmates are allowed to have visitors. All visitors under the age of 18 will be allowed to visit, however, they will need to be with their legal guardian. Before you are allowed to go into the visitation area you will need to show either your driver’s license, state identification card, or your United States Passport.

Make sure to keep all of your personal belongings in your vehicle. None of your personal belongings are allowed in the visitation area.  

The Neosho County Jail only allows no-contact video visits. You and the inmate will only be allowed to see each other on a computer screen. You will not be allowed to see an inmate in person. 

Remote visits are offered at the Neosho County Jail from the comfort of your own home. You will need a computer, webcam, and high-speed internet in order to a remote visit.
