Do an Inmate Search First
The first thing you want to do before anything else is ensure the offender is at Chain O’ Lakes Correctional Facility. To do this, you will do an offender search online. You will need to know the offender’s first and last name. Be sure to write down their DOC number as well as their facility location.
Once you know where an inmate is located, you can send money, schedule visits, and set up phone accounts.
In order to visit someone in a state prison, you will need to be on the approved visitors list. You can send in a visitor application online using JPay, or you can have an inmate send you a paper application. Before you schedule a visit, you will want to call the facility to find out any visitation updates at (260) 636-3114.
The visitation schedule for Chain O’ Lakes is as follows:
|Sunday||North Dorm||8:30am – 10:30am|

|Saturday||East Dorm||8:30am – 10:30am|
|South Dorm||12:45pm – 2:45pm|

Commissary is a store within the prison that allows inmates to purchase items they may want or need. You can put money on an inmate’s commissary account using JPay. This money can be used for them to purchase phone minutes, writing materials, stamps, envelopes, socks, underwear, and other items permitted to them.
