Noble County Jail is a medium-security jail located at 210 South 7th Street in Albion, Indiana. Operated by the Noble County Sheriff’s Office, this jail houses inmates who are awaiting trial, sentencing or serving less than two years of a sentence. Noble County Jail accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, and the Albion Police Department who does not have their own jail.
Every year Noble County Jail has approximately 5260 Bookings, with a daily average of 263 inmates and a full-time staff of 65.
Inmates are housed in separate areas depending on their charges, convictions, their current risk assessment, and their behavior. Noble County Jail is currently under the supervision of Jail Commander Captain Shane Coney.
Noble County Jail has a trustee program for inmates who qualify. Trustees are inmates who work within the jail doing kitchen, laundry, or commissary work. They get paid a small amount for their work, and sometimes they get time taken off of their sentencing.
Noble County Jail also offers a work release program where qualifying inmates are able to leave during the day to work and return to the jail at night. Inmates at Noble County Jail are given three meals a day, all approved by a dietician. Inmates are allowed one hour of recreational time each day.
