Did someone you know recently get arrested in Franklin County Jail? This can be a challenging time for both friends and families alike. Below, we will give you the basic information that you will need to help you navigate this new challenge in your life.
About the Jail
Like most county jails, Franklin County Jail is a holding cell where those who are incarcerated stay until they are sentenced. However, some things do run a little differently here than other county jails.
One of the things that is different about this jail is that the Commonwealth of Kentucky does not have bail bondsmen. Instead, they use a uniform schedule bail. This means if a person has a bail amount, the full amount must be paid in cash only. Therefore, it may be more difficult for someone to be bailed out if they don’t have the cash. For bonding information, you will need to call 502-209-8529 Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.
Even if you are not able to bail a person out, you can still have two 30-minute visits per week. Visiting days and times are as follows:
- Tuesday and Wednesday: 9am-10:30am and 12:30pm- 3pm.
- Sunday 9am-11am and 1:30pm-2:30pm.
If you have further questions or concerns, you can contact the jail directly.
