The Benton County Jail and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the safety of their 8,700 residents that live within the Benton County city limits. Benton County expands nearly 412 square miles. The Sheriff’s Office and the Benton County Jail work closely together to ensure the safety and protection of all inmates who call Benton County home.

The Benton County Jail opened its doors back in 1997. When the facility first opened they had a limit of 43 inmates that they could house at a single time. This capacity number did not include their holding cells whatsoever.
Inmates that are held in the Benton County Jail can receive visits from their family and friends. Inmates are only permitted to have either one 30-minute session or two 15-minute sessions during a calendar week. All visits are required to be scheduled 24 hours prior or the visit will be declined.
